Justice? At what expense?

“Kanoon ke Haath bahut lambe hote hai” but how much should we feed kanoon to get its hands on real justice? Can anyone imagine how much government spends in pending courts cases? Why do we keep stranding on terrorist cases and give time to them to either flee away from jails or to get another aircraft high-jacked by terrorist asking to release these wild terrorist in return of poor hostages? I agree that India has now ‘No negotiation pact’ for such cases but I don’t think India will never bow down if top officials or political figures are held as hostages. This reminded me ‘A Wednesday’ movie.

We are spending millions to keep these captured terrorists alive and keep them secured. Why Kasab is still alive; for justice and to dig out some more information from him? In every court hearing he is talking all bullshit. He is contradicting every statement he told in previous hearing, constantly blabbering crap. Not to mention his demands for urdu newspapers, books, mutton biryani and what not… He still believes he is in terrorist training camp or on vacations to some hill station. Today’s news in TOI made me write this article. Now he says that all of the four terrorists attacking Taj hotel were Indians and he can recognize them seeing their faces. Yes definitely he will, until next court hearing and then he will ask “Who these are? I have not seen these faces in my whole life”. What is he thinking of himself? All these statements will not make any difference in the case against him but will just pass the time of court. Why are we blaming Pakistan government for not supporting in this case when India is not strong enough to get its lines straight? When we have these many issues in our system, it’s a cake walk for Pakistan to dabble the issue left and right.

Whenever some politician or fat wallet figure is involved in any case, these cases are simply on hold for hearings and huge amount is wasted in all these for ages. These amounts can be prudently utilized to solve other basic and vital problems like food, electricity and home for Juntaa. Yes there is need for Justice but at what expense? In my view a special courts should be dedicated only for such stranded cases and efforts should be made to close these cases ASAP. Punish them whoever are guilty, catch hold of them who are out on bails with pending cases, release those innocent people who are framed and jailed.  I am sure many prisoners who have done minor crimes are spending their lives behind bars waiting for court to call their name. How much and to what extent can we afford this? Just talks and no solution. This is the reason sometimes I feel old justice of shooting a terrorist/rapist in public from some of the gulf countries is most effective solution.

People are taking court for granted and advocates are filling their pockets by all the possible illegal means, keeping cases without any end results. It’s high time for Indian government to rethink its judiciary system policies and make amendments for betterment of justice and equally betterment for society. After all we are developing country and can’t be in this stage for ever if we want to step up from developing to developed nation.

Hey Agasti, i think the first step to meeting your expectation from judiciary of india will be -
1. An IT implementation in JUDICIAL SYSTEM of india.(We need accountabiltiy)
2. The system will be tightly integrated across prisons, courts and police stations.
3. We will write the code of the software- One snippet here-
Declare Anti National
Check
Execute
elseif
Free at that moment
